ADU and Small Home Tour
Take a guided or self-guided tour of real accessory dwelling units in Portland. The tour will visit five ADUs of different types (detached, garage and basement), with builders, designers or homeowners on-site to answer questions about their process and results. The tour will include additional sites like creative triplexes, courtyard apartment complexes and other “missing-middle” housing that provides an important housing type between single family homes and ADUs.
These tours require separate registration from the November 3rd professional Summit. Both guided and self-guided tours will visit the same stops, and run from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm on Saturday, November 4th.
The Self-Guided ADU and Small Home Tour will include a pamphlet guide to the tour stops so participants can visit each site in their own order and on their own time.
The Guided ADU and Small Home Tour will include lunch, transportation, a pamphlet guide to the tour stops, and an experienced guide to offer more detailed information about each site. The tour bus will pick up and return participants to the PSU Smith Center.
After the tour, join us for an Informational After-Party and Networking at the Alberta Street Pub, featuring a talk about Kol Peterson’s forthcoming book Backdoor Revolution – The Definitive Guide to ADU Development, due out in January 2018.
