Biography

David is a registered architect and educator who served as the sustainability manager at GBD Architects in Portland, Oregon for the past ten years. He was the Passive House consultant for one of the first multi-family passive house projects in the US and received a design award for his work on an infill project with Portland Metro Habitat for Humanity which was featured in the book “Designed for Habitat: Collaborations with Habitat for Humanity.” Now an adjunct faculty member at Portland State University where he focuses on the integration of building science, human factors, and design, David has served on the USGBC Sustainable Sites Technical Advisory Committee and is currently working on a heating systems guidebook for accessory dwelling units and several ADU projects.
