Biography

Sergio Palleroni, is a Professor and Fellow and Director of the new Center for Public Interest Design at Portland State University. He has worked on sustainable architecture and community design in the developing world since the 1980’s both for not-for-profit agencies and governmental and international agencies such as UNESCO, World Bank, and government agencies worldwide. His work with students has received numerous national and international awards, including the 2011 NCARB Prize for Creative Integration of Practice and Education, the 2005 US National Design Award from the Smithsonian and White House, the first USGBC Education Award in 2008, in 2013 AIA’s Latrobe Prize, and in 2015 a finalist for China’s Tang Prize in Sustainability.
