Ira Bailey is a Housing Program Coordinator with Portland Housing Bureau (PHB) in Portland, Oregon. Prior to joining PHB, Ira spent four and a half years as a Homebuying Specialist with Portland Housing Center, helping families transition from renters to successful homeowners. It was there that he saw a growing number of families face challenges to maintaining stable housing. Housing costs, from both rentals and home-ownership, are increasing faster than incomes and affordability.
Now at PHB, Ira is helping develop a program that assists longtime Portland homeowners to avoid displacement by creating an accessory dwelling unit (ADU) in their basement.
