Biography
Leonard Bauer is the City of Olympia’s Deputy Director for Community Planning and Development. In 2016-2018, he led the City’s zoning amendments to increase opportunities for ‘missing middle’ housing. Leonard holds a Master’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Oregon. He has served as the Managing Director of Growth Management Services for the State of Washington, and as a planner and planning director at various local governments in Oregon and Washington. In 2014, he was inducted as a Fellow of the American Institute of Certified Planners, a national recognition for excellence in the field of planning.
