Biography
Robert Liberty has worked on land use planning issues, including housing regulation, from the local to the international levels, since 1981. He was a staff attorney and Executive Director of 1000 Friends of Oregon and Senior Counsel to Oregon Congressman Earl Blumenauer. In 2004 he was elected to the Metro Council, Portland’s regional government and was re-elected in 2008. Today he directs two sustainability programs at Portland State University. He has degrees from the University of Oregon, Oxford University and Harvard Law School.
